PIZZA RECIPE

Dough
  • 1.5 cups water
  • 1 tsp instant yeast
  • 1 pinch white sugar
  • 5 cups pizza flour or OO all-purpose flour (recommended to visit a grocery store’s specialty section)
  • 1.5 tbsp salt
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
  1. Place water, yeast and sugar in a mixing bowl and whisk well until dissolved.
  2. Add ½ the flour and mix in well first using the same whisk and then use your hands until doughy.
  3. Add salt and olive oil and mix again.
  4. Add the remaining flour and mix by hand until the dough is kneaded in a smooth, soft but not sticky dough. Sometimes it is easier to turn your dough out on to a tabletop.
  5. Cling wrap the surface of your dough and let rest at room temperature for 30 minutes. You can also use a slightly damp kitchen towel and place over the dough.
  6. Portion your dough in 3 balls.
  7. Enjoy rolling out and creating your very own recipes!
Chef’s Tips
  • If your pizza dough seems dry and you are having a hard time kneading it in a ball, add 1 teaspoon of warm water. Keep in mind dough is a living item so room temperature and humidity have a huge role in this process.
  • Pizza dough is best made beforehand, don’t be scared to make your dough on Monday or Tuesday for some Sunday family fun! If you do this after the 30-minute proofing time cut your dough mass into 3 and roll them out in tight balls. Store in fridge in an airtight container. Clingwrap also works just fine. Keep your portioned balls about 2 inches apart.
  • Pizza sauce is best kept simple.
  • The best temperature to cook your pizza at is 400°F – keep an eye on your pizza, it should take approximately 10 minutes.

Buon Appetito!!!
